About Heather Applegate



Born and raised in Londonderry, NH, I've now come to live on a farmstead in Johnson City, TN that has been in my family for centuries. After grad school at Durham University I ended up living in London for several years, so a lot of my work is from there. I pride myself on the compositions of my photographs, and I strive to create the strongest composition possible in the camera. Perhaps because I have a background in archaeology, I'm drawn to old, vintage, decaying, falling apart objects and places. Wabi sabi - there is beauty in imperfection.
